Northeastern University’s College of Arts, Media and Design will host a research symposium on February 12 and 13 to discuss the state of arts data and research, with co-hosts ArtsBoston and the Canadian Arts Presenting Association (CAPACOA). Jonathan McPhee, music director of the Boston Ballet, will speak about employing data to understand the audience as influencers; Frédéric Julien from CAPACOA will present findings the organization’s 2013 study “The Value of Presenting: A Study of Performing Arts Presentation in Canada”; John Beck from ArtsBoston will present findings from ArtsBoston Audience Initiative. A presentation of case studies will feature delegates from Central Square Theater, the Handel and Haydn Society, and the Huntington Theatre Company. The symposium will be held at the university’s Fenway Center at its Boston campus and is free and open to the public. Registration is required. Get information at the symposium website.
