Wintergreen Performing Arts, presenter of the Wintergreen (Va.) Summer Music Festival and Academy, has announced that LARRY ALAN SMITH, its artistic and executive director for the past eight years, will step down following the completion of this year’s festival, which runs from July 7 to August 3. His resignation will take effect before the end of this calendar year, and possibly as early as September 30. A committee from the WPA Board of Directors will begin a search for his replacement within the next month. Smith is a professor of composition at The Hartt School of the University of Hartford, and former dean of the school.
