The New York Philharmonic is hosting a free event entitled “The 21st Century Orchestra,” featuring a conversation between Executive Director Matthew VanBesien and Music Director Alan Gilbert. The discussion, held on March 3 at 7:30 p.m. at the David Rubenstein Atrium at Lincoln Center in New York, will focus on the role of the orchestra in light of recent economic and cultural shifts.
