The Boulder Philharmonic in Colorado has announced the appointment of CHARLES WETHERBEE as concertmaster. He succeeds GREGORY WALKER, who served in that post for 25 years. Wetherbee is a faculty member at the University of Colorado-Boulder; first violinist of the Carpe Diem String Quartet; a founding member of the piano trio Opus 3; and artistic director of the Dercum Center for Arts and Humanities in Keystone, Colo. For sixteen years he served as concertmaster of the Columbus (Ohio) Symphony Orchestra, and began his orchestral career at the National Symphony Orchestra, where he was principal second violin for five years. Wetherbee is a graduate of the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia.
