Tittica Roberts “Tica” Mitchell, who held a senior post at Herbert Barrett Management in New York City and later headed her own artist management firm, died February 19 at Licking Memorial Hospital in Newark, Ohio. Born December 10, 1939 to the late Al and Joyce K. Roberts, she graduated from Newark High School and subsequently attended Ohio State University, earning a bachelor’s degree in political science. Following graduation she moved to New York City and embarked on a career in artist management, eventually becoming senior vice president at Herbert Barrett Management. In 1979 she married William A. Mitchell. Upon his retirement the couple relocated to her native state of Ohio and settled in the Columbus area, where she opened her own firm, TRM Management Inc. Among her clients at TRM was conductor Erich Kunzel, which whom she had worked at the Barrett firm. Following Kunzel’s death in 2009 she retired from artist management, but remained active in the local music scene, including extensive activities with the Columbus Symphony Orchestra.
