Musicians in the Kansas City Symphony recently made two behind-the-scenes videos filmed using Google Glass technology. The orchestra partnered with Engage Mobile Solutions—a mobile app and software development company based in Kansas City—for the experiment, outfitting four members of the orchestra with Google Glass while they performed Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony. The resulting high-definition videos feature perspectives from the point of view of Music Director Michael Stern, horn player Elizabeth Schellhase Gray, bassist Evan Halloin, and violinist Heidi Han. According to a press release, the performances represent the first time Google Glass has been used to record the views of four members of a professional orchestra at the same time. The videos can be seen here and here.
