The Phoenix Symphony has announced the promotion of KATIE COBB to executive vice president and chief operating officer, and the appointment of JEFF HUNSINGER as general manager.

Katie Cobb has led marketing, development, and community outreach programs at the Phoenix Symphony for the past three years; in her new role she will assume additional responsibilities in financial management, administration, and information technology. Prior to joining the orchestra’s staff she was a managing partner for the marketing and communications company Actual Media LLC. Cobb has also served as a national news producer for Fox News in Los Angeles, and as deputy press secretary to Arizona Governor Fife Symington.

Jeff Hunsinger goes to Phoenix from the Fort Wayne (Ind.) Philharmonic, where he was general manager. From 2003 to 2009 he served as director of operations at the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra. Hunsinger has worked as a broadcast and recording engineer at Aspen Musical Festival and School, at Banff Centre for the Arts (Alberta, Canada), and at jazz festivals in New Orleans. A musician by training (clarinet and guitar), Hunsinger received a bachelor’s degree in music, with a focus in recording arts, music industry, and business administration, from California State University, Chico.
