Before coming to Pittsburgh in the 2012-13 season Haimor spent two years as assistant conductor at the Alabama Symphony Orchestra. He has also worked with the Jacksonville and Kansas city symphonies, the Amman Symphony Orchestra in Jordan, the Orquestra Sinfonico do Porto (Porto Alegre, Brazil), and the Filharmonica del Teatro Comunale di Bologna. Born in Chicago and raised in the Middle East and the San Francisco Bay area, Haimor earned a bachelor’s degree and a master’s in conducting from the University of California, Davis, and a second master’s degree in conducting from the Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University.
