The American Composers Forum’s Jerome Fund for New Music is seeking applications from emerging composers who reside in Minnesota or in the five boroughs of New York City. The program supports the creation of new music in all genres—jazz, experimental, classical, improvised, electroacoustic, sound-art, international—by emerging composers, composer/performers, improvisers and sound artists. Composers apply in conjunction with a performing organization (which may be any soloist or group), or composers playing their own work may apply in conjunction with a venue or presenter. The Jerome Fund will grant up to $7,000 towards the composer’s commission fee. The postmark deadline for applications is August 15, and awards are expected to be announced in October. More information about the program is available at the American Composers Forum website. The 2013 recipients Jerome Fund recipients were Greg Brosofske, Alexei Casselle, John Keston , and Kathy McTavish (all from Minnesota), and Troy Herion, Shawn Jaeger, Jascha Narveson,  Gity Razaz, Erin Rogers, Conrad Winslow , and Gabriel Zucker (from New York City).
