An unsigned story posted 4/15 (Tuesday) on 12newsnow.com (Texas-based KBMT) reports, “A spokesperson for The Symphony of Southeast Texas Tuesday announced that Executive Director Craig Escamilla will resign his position effective May 31 to accept a position at Lamar University. A board search committee has been formed to find his replacement…. Escamilla joined the SOST staff in 2006 as director of communications and was promoted to executive director in 2007. He has agreed to assist in the transition to the new executive director through June if needed. ‘I am incredibly proud to have been a part of the outstanding growth and success SOST has enjoyed over the last few years,’ said Escamilla….The SOST recently completed its 61st consecutive season of outstanding performances. The Symphony has a commitment to a major strategic planning process focused on three key areas of artistic quality, community engagement and music education. Since 2009 the budget size has increased by nearly 20 percent, ticket sales revenue has increased by 20 percent and donor revenue has increased by 25 percent.”
