“Symphony on the Prairie,” the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra’s annual summer performance series in Fishers, Indiana, will recognize the military as well as service groups and colleges, at five 2014 concerts. On June 21, Scout Night, local scout troops will help audiences carry picnic supplies onto the Conner Prairie concert grounds and be recognized from the stage. Other concerts will honor Indiana police and firefighters (June 27), members of the Armed Forces (July 3-5), teachers (July 11), students and alumni from Indiana universities (July 18), and nurses (August 15). “Symphony on the Prairie” takes place over eleven weekends from June to August and includes a mix of pops and classics concerts with music ranging from Beethoven and Gershwin to Led Zeppelin and the Beatles, led by conductors including Jack Everly, Teddy Abrams, Alfred Savia, David Glover, and Brent Havens.
