In a 2005 League survey of orchestras, the presence of music education in the schools ranked as a top national priority. As civic-minded community-based organizations, America’s adult and youth orchestras can help to improve access to the benefits of learning music by advocating locally for in-school music education.
The League encourages all adult and youth orchestras to endorse this statement of common cause. To sign on, orchestra executive directors simply complete a short online form. We also encourage orchestras to take action in their own communities and share information about their advocacy experiences.
