Orchestras Support In-School Music Education

Posted on: May 5, 2014

Join the national effort and commit to local action!

In a 2005 League survey of orchestras, the presence of music education in the schools ranked as a top national priority. As civic-minded community-based organizations, America’s adult and youth orchestras can help to improve access to the benefits of learning music by advocating locally for in-school music education.

The League encourages all adult and youth orchestras to endorse this statement of common cause. To sign on, orchestra executive directors simply complete a short online form. We also encourage orchestras to take action in their own communities and share information about their advocacy experiences.

See the nearly 250 orchestras that have endorsed the Statement of Common Cause and sign on today at americanorchestras.org.
