“The entity known as Cape Cod Symphony Orchestra and Cape Cod Conservatory of Music & Arts has changed its name to Cape Symphony & Conservatory. The individual names also have been shortened, to Cape Symphony and Cape Conservatory,” reads an unsigned Tuesday (5/6) report at Wicked Local Cape Cod (Orleans, Mass.). “Since the two organizations merged in 2010, they’ve been working to create more synergy between them. For example, in the 2013/2014 season, the Conservatory often offered classes that were reflective of an upcoming Cape Symphony concert. Meanwhile, at each Cape Symphony concert students of the Conservatory showed off their skills in the lobby as part of ‘Symphony Scene.’ Both organizations also tied connective programming into their respective brochures. ‘After three years of building a joint financial and programming foundation, we wanted to take the next step and update our identity to reflect that. Moving forward, the names and logos of both organizations will mirror one another to make them easily identifiable as ours… and easier to say,’ said Executive Director Jerome Karter.”
