Several additions to the orchestral and choral rosters have been announced by Chicago’s Grant Park Music Festival: HANNAH CHOI, section violin; YOUMING CHEN, section viola; MELISSA ARNING, alto; ERICH BUCHHOLZ, tenor; KLAUS GEORG, tenor; DAN RICHARDSON, bass; and DANE THOMAS, tenor.

Hannah Choi is currently a substitute musician with the Philadelphia Orchestra, and has performed with orchestras and festivals around the world since winning first prizes in the Korean Music Association Competition and the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra Concerto Competition. She studied at the Curtis Institute of Music, New England Conservatory, and the Manhattan School of Music.

Youming Chen was recently named associate principal viola in the Kansas City Symphony. He attended the University of Michigan and The Juilliard School, and is currently pursuing a Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the University of Missouri-Kansas City.
