The Utah Symphony has announced the extension of THIERRY FISCHER’s contract as music director through the 2018-19 season. He is now completing his fifth season with the orchestra. During his Utah Symphony tenure Fischer has recruited nearly 30 musicians to the orchestra roster; introduced Beethoven, Mendelssohn, and Nielsen symphony cycles, with a two-season Mahler cycle to begin in 2014-15; and developed a program of commissions and premieres.
