The Richmond (Va.) Symphony and the School of the Arts at Virginia Commonwealth University have appointed ERIN R. FREEMAN to a newly created joint position, director of choral activities at VCU and director of the Richmond Symphony Chorus. Freeman is currently director of the Richmond Symphony Chorus and holder of the James Erb Choral Chair at the Richmond Symphony. From 2007 to 2014 she served as associate conductor of the Richmond Symphony. She holds a bachelor’s degree in vocal performance from Northwestern University, a master’s degree in conducting from Boston University School for the Arts, and a doctoral degree in orchestral conducting from the Peabody Conservatory of Johns Hopkins University.
