The Winston-Salem (N.C.) Symphony has announced the appointment of JAMES TRAVIS CREED as artistic operations director, effective August 1, 2014. A North Carolina native, he goes to Winston-Salem from the Raleigh-based North Carolina Symphony, where he served most recently as director of operations and was previously stage manager and assistant stage manager. Before that, Creed was properties manager, technician, and set carpenter at the Progress Energy Center for the Performing Arts in Raleigh. He attended the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and received an Associate of Applied Science degree in horticulture from Wilkes Community College in Wilkesboro, N.C.
