The Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra is launching the 317 Series, an initiative in which the orchestra will expand its performances into Hendricks County and in the Greater Greenwood area in central Indiana. The ISO will give performances in September, January, February, and March at Hendricks Regional Health Performing Arts Center at Avon High School, and will perform in November and June at Center Grove High School. A third concert in Greenwood will take place in March, with a venue to be announced later. In addition to the concert performances, the 317 Series will also include recitals and ISO partnerships with school and adult music-education programs and other community-service groups. “The 317 Series gives us the opportunity to not only perform to but to immerse ourselves in areas currently underserved by the ISO,” said CEO Gary Ginstling. “In order to attract new patrons to orchestral music, we are prepared to send our orchestra out into the community, to present outstanding concerts at an affordable price, and to connect with people in their own backyards.”
