The Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra has announced that Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer MICHAEL BIELSKI will retire at the end of the 2014-15 season following 25 years with the organization. During his tenure he has worked closely with PSO musicians, trustees, and administrators on a variety of initiatives and community partnerships; collaborated closely with the orchestra’s late principal pops conductor, Marvin Hamlisch; and managed numerous international tours. Bielski joined the orchestra staff in 1990 as general manager, having earlier served as co-executive director of the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra.
