JUSTIN ELLIS has been named artistic administrator of the National Symphony Orchestra. He goes to the NSO from the Virginia Symphony Orchestra, where he was director of operations and artistic planning. His prior experience includes serving as director of artistic operations at the Hartford Symphony Orchestra, and in production and artistic administration positions at the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, Grant Park Music Festival, and Chamber Music Northwest. Ellis holds an MBA from the University of Cincinnati’s Lidner College of Business, where he studied arts administration, and a bachelor’s degree in music from Portland (Ore.) State University.
