In Sunday’s (8/10) Messenger-Inquirer (Owensboro, Ky.), Rich Suwanski reports, “Dan Griffith was named the Owensboro Symphony Orchestra CEO Friday night and will take over the position on Sept. 15. Griffith previously served with OSO from 1985 to 1997 and left as the executive director. Griffith will wrap up his duties as the executive director of the Green River Area Community Foundation in the coming weeks…. Jiten Shah, OSO’s governing board president-elect and chair of the search committee, said the organization focused on a CEO candidate with a ‘background in arts management, strong strategic vision and understanding of every facet of fundraising.’ ” Griffith is a board member of Owensboro Public Schools, and also “serves on the Friends of Kentucky Educational Television Board. He has previously served on the KET Authority and Foundation boards, the Owensboro Foundation for Health Board, Owensboro Dance Theatre board, and state and national boards of the Association of Legal Administrators.”
