The Detroit Symphony Orchestra has announced that it received an anonymous $250,000 matching gift for all gifts received by September 2, and that 100 percent of the DSO staff voluntarily have made annual fund gifts, contributing more than $40,000 toward the match. The orchestra’s 2014 fiscal year ends on August 31, and a successful completion of the annual fund goal will mean that the organization balances its budget for the second consecutive year. In December 2013, the DSO announced the achievement of its first balanced budget since 2007.
