“After a nationwide search, the Flint Institute of Music recently selected Lindsay Pearson as the new Flint Symphony Orchestra Manager,” writes Scott Atkinson in Monday’s (9/1) Michigan Live. “Pearson spent more than six years with the Long Beach Symphony where she has had several roles. A violist educated at California State University, she has participated in several international tours and worked with many orchestras.… Her post becomes effective Sept. 8. In announcing the appointment, FIM President Paul Torre said, ‘Lindsay brings a breadth of talent and symphonic experience to Flint and the FSO. I look forward to her joining the team.’ FSO old Maestro Enrique Diemecke also said he’s glad to see her on the team. ‘I am very happy to welcome Lindsay to the Flint Symphony and the FIM family. I am sure that with her positive energy and passion for the music performed, we are going to have the opportunity to keep the high standards we all want,’ he said. Pearson replaces Tom Glasscock, who is retiring after serving as the FSO manager since 1995. Glasscock has been performing with the FSO since 1966 and for years also conducted the Flint Youth Symphony Orchestra.”
