The world premiere of What I Learned About Outer Space, a collaborative performance-art work with music by composers Rene Orth and Alyssa Weinberg, will take place on September 6 at FringeArts’ recently opened waterfront facility on North Columbus Boulevard in Philadelphia. Orth and Weinberg are both students at the Curtis Institute of Music. The performance will feature Ensemble39, a Philadelphia-based chamber group of Curtis alumni, and fifteen dancers from the Pennsylvania Ballet. The work’s three choreographers are Zoe Scofield, Itamar Serussi, and Georg Reischl. What I Learned About Outer Space is the first public performance to take place at the new FringeArts facility. FringeArts, founded in 1997, was formerly known as the Philadelphia Live Arts Festival and Philly Fringe.
