The Colorado Music Festival and Center for Musical Arts has announced the appointment of Canadian conductor JEAN-MARIE ZEITOUNI to an initial three-year term as music director. He will conduct nearly five weeks of performances at the 2015 festival, and will travel to Boulder each year between September and May to participate in special events, community engagement activities, strategic and artistic planning sessions, and programs of the Center for Musical Arts. Zeitouni is currently artistic director of the Canadian chamber orchestra I Musici de Montreal, and has guest conducted widely as well as holding posts as music director of the Columbus (Ohio) Symphony Orchestra and principal guest conductor of Les Violons du Roi, a chamber orchestra based in Quebec City. He studied conducting with Raffi Armenian and graduated in conducting, percussion, and music theory from the Montreal Conservatory.
