Shreveport Symphony to open season with “Cloud Scraper” world premiere

In Louisiana, Music Director Michael Butterman will lead the Shreveport Symphony’s 2014-15 season-opening concert, which will feature Cloud Scraper, a world premiere by James Eakin, a Shreveport native. The September 20 concert of at Shreveport’s RiverView Theater will also feature violinist Mayuko Kamio, first-prize winner of the 2007 Tchaikovsky Competition, in Prokofiev’s Violin Concerto No. 2; and Matt Albert, the orchestra’s newly appointed concertmaster, in Rimsky-Korsakov’s Scheherazade.
