At the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, STEVEN WOOMERT has been named associate principal trumpet. AMY ZOLOTO joins the orchestra for her first full season as clarinet and bass clarinet.

Steven Woomert recently completed his artist’s diploma the Glenn Gould School of the Royal Conservatory in Toronto, where he studied with TSO Principal Trumpet Andrew McCandless and won the 2013 International Trumpet Guild Orchestral Excerpts Competition. He holds a Bachelor of Music degree from Northwestern University. Woomert is a Toronto native and alumnus of the Toronto Symphony Youth Orchestra.

Amy Zoloto goes to the Toronto Symphony after previous seasons with the New York Philharmonic and the Jacksonville (Fla.) Symphony Orchestra. She has also performed and toured with the Philadelphia Orchestra, the American Symphony Orchestra, the Metropolitan and New York City opera orchestras, and the Mariinsky Theatre Orchestra. A graduate of DePaul University in Chicago, Zoloto has taught masterclasses at Manhattan School of Music, coached the New York Youth Symphony, and served as adjunct professor at the University of Florida, Gainesville.
