Hornist WILLIAM VERMEULEN has been named brass artist-in-residence at the Royal Conservatory of Music’s Glenn Gould School in Toronto, Ont. Principal horn in the Houston Symphony since 1990, VerMeulen has performed as guest principal with major orchestras across the U.S. and has enjoyed an active career as a soloist, chamber musician, and recording artist. As an educator, he adds his new duties at the Glenn School to current faculty posts at the Shepherd School of Music of Rice University (Houston); the Banff Centre (Alberta, Canada); the National Orchestral Institute (College Park, Md.); the New World Symphony (Miami Beach, Fla.); and the Immanuel and Helen Olshan Texas Music Festival in Houston.
