Board members are critical components in fundraising for orchestras—but are they comfortable as fundraisers? Are they engaged in meaningful fundraising? The League of American Orchestras will present Building an Effective Fundraising Board, an interactive seminar for orchestra board members and CEOs, on November 6, 2014 from 1pm to 5pm at Severance Hall in Cleveland, Ohio. Presented under the auspices of the League’s Orchestra Governance Center, Building an Effective Fundraising Board will feature renowned governance expert Chuck Loring along with a panel of highly experienced orchestra board and staff fundraising leaders. Participants will learn how to cultivate a healthy culture of fundraising among board members; recruit and empower an effective fundraising board; and coordinate the complementary roles of staff and board members for maximum impact. From 9 to 11:30 am, participants are invited to take part in a Town Hall discussion that will identify the key issues and opportunities for the orchestra field, and shine a light on outstanding work being done by orchestras in northeast Ohio. Registration for the seminar includes a free networking lunch and a complimentary ticket to the Cleveland Orchestra’s concert that evening. For more information and to register, click here.
