DON NELSON has been named general manager of the Buffalo Philharmonic. He goes to Buffalo from Spokane, Wash., where he served for fourteen years as general manager of the Spokane Symphony and for six years as general manager of the Martin Woldson Theater. Prior to his time in Spokane, Nelson was affiliated with the Florida Philharmonic, first as a bassist, then as personnel manager and festival manager. He holds a bachelor’s degree in music from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and a master’s degree in nonprofit management from Regis University.
