The Detroit Symphony Orchestra has announced the promotion of nine staff members to director and manager level-positions.

CASSIE BRENSKE has been promoted to Director of Advancement for Individual Giving. She will lead relationship and fund development with the DSO’s most generous annual giving patrons, each of whom gives approximately $5 million annually. In her previous role as Governing Members Gift Officer, Brenske more than doubled participation in the Governing Members program.

KATHRYN GINSBURG has been named Director of Operations. Ginsburg will lead orchestra scheduling, touring, and Collective Bargaining Agreement compliance. She began at the DSO in 2011 as Operations and Pops Coordinator, followed by Artistic Manager, during which time her duties included overseeing logistics and personal service for the orchestra’s guest artists.

JODY HARPER has been promoted to Director of Information Technology. Hired last year as IT Manager, Harper engineered the upgrade of the DSO’s IT infrastructure, security, and reliability, including a comprehensive update to website servers as well as to the organization’s broadband capabilities. Harper launched the DSO’s first Board IT committee, which provides volunteer leadership for DSO technology.

EMILY LAMOREAUX has been promoted to the Director of Education after serving as general manager of the DSO’s Civic Youth Ensembles. She will oversee all DSO education efforts, including the newly minted Wu Academy of Music Education, the curriculum of some 1,000 DSO Civic Youth Ensembles participants, and new digital educational programs for schoolchildren in Detroit and nationwide.

GABRIELLE POSHADLO received a promotion to Director of Communications and Media Relations. Previously the Public Relations and Constituent Communications Manager, she built an extensive media presence for the DSO while revising the DSO’s approach to internal communications and publications. In her new role, Poshadlo will lead the orchestra’s national media strategy as well as its targeted communications with the patron base and key external audiences.

Four other manager-level promotions were simultaneously announced. LINDSEY EVERT has taken on the role of Advancement Projects Manager. CHELSEA KOTULA has been promoted to Advancement and Board Campaigns Manager. JESSICA LUTHER has been promoted to Campaign and Planned Giving Manager for the oneDSO endowment campaign. JESSICA RUIZ, in addition to her current work for the DSO’s Pops, DSO Presents, and @ The Max series, will take over the planning and programming of the Education Concert Series, Young Peoples Family Concerts, and in-school programming as Manager of Artistic Planning.
