The Pacific Symphony, in California’s Orange County, has announced two additions to its musician roster for the 2014-15 season: KYLE MENDIGUCHIA, bass trombone, and TED SUGATA, second oboe.

Kyle Mendiguchia was most recently bass trombonist with the Naples (Fla.) Philharmonic, and before that held one-year positions with the Utah and San Diego symphonies. He has also performed with the New York Philharmonic, New York City Ballet, the AIMS Institute in Graz, Austria, Switzerland’s Verbier Festival, and the Alabama, Atlanta, San Francisco, and Seattle symphonies. A native of San Diego, Mendiguchia holds a master’s degree from The Juilliard School and a bachelor’s degree from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music.

Ted Sugata was formerly a member of the Sarasota (Fla.) Orchestra, and served as principal oboist with France’s Lyrique en Mer Opera Festival. He is a member of the Calico Winds (Glendale, Calif.) and performs frequently with the Los Angeles Philharmonic, Los Angeles Opera, San Diego Symphony, Long Beach Symphony, and Pasadena Symphony. Sugata holds a bachelor’s degree from Manhattan School of Music, a master’s degree from the Cleveland Institute of Music, and a doctorate in oboe performance from the University of Southern California.
