The Pasadena Symphony Association, comprising the Pasadena Symphony and POPS, has named LORA UNGER chief executive officer, effective November 1. Since 2009 she has served as the organization’s general manager, and more recently as its chief operating officer. Prior to Pasadena, Unger held posts in public relations, marketing, and artistic operations with the Santa Fe Chamber Music Festival and the Cincinnati, Modesto (Calif.) and Jacksonville (Fla.) symphony orchestras. A 2003 graduate of the League of American Orchestras’ Orchestra Management Fellowship Program, Unger is a trained violist who holds a bachelor’s degree in music with a minor in business administration from the University of Louisville. She received a master’s degree in arts administration from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music and the Cincinnati College of Business Administration.
