California’s Santa Barbara Symphony has announced the appointment of DAVID PRATT as executive director, effective March 2, 2015. A native of Australia, he has for the past four years served as executive director of the Savannah (Ga.) Philharmonic. Prior to that Pratt worked as senior event manager for the G’Day USA Festival, which works to cultivate ties between the U.S. and Australia. Earlier posts include commercial enterprises manager at Australia’s Sydney Symphony; general manager of the Australian Festival of Chamber Music; Australian film commissioner for Ausfilm in Los Angeles; and general manager of the Melbourne Film Office in the Australian state of Victoria. Pratt holds a bachelor of arts degree, a graduate diploma in business administration, and a certificate in public relations.
