MICHAEL BUTTERMAN’s contract as principal conductor for education and community engagement at the Rochester (N.Y.) Philharmonic Orchestra has been renewed through the 2017-18 season. He has held that post since 2000. Butterman continues to serve as music director of the Shreveport (La.) Symphony Orchestra, the Boulder (Colo.) Philharmonic, and the Pennsylvania Philharmonic, headquartered in the Philadelphia suburb of Ardmore, Pa. He is also resident conductor of the Jacksonville (Fla.) Symphony Orchestra.
