The Midland (Tex.) Center for the Arts has announced a three-year extension of BOHUSLAV RATTAY’s contract as music director of the Midland Symphony Orchestra. He has served in that position since the start of the 2012-13 season. Rattay is also music director of the Lake Charles (La.) Symphony Orchestra and the El Paso (Tex.) Symphony Orchestra. A Czech native, he holds degrees from the Prague Conservatory, Rice University in Houston, and the Peabody Institute of Music in Baltimore. He is a former fellow in the League of American Orchestras’ Conducting Fellowship Program.
