The Spokane Symphony is partnering with the Spokane International Film Festival (SpIFF) for a January 31 “Movie Music Spectacular” pops performance featuring music from James Bond movies, Star Wars, and Gone With the Wind, led by Resident Conductor Morihiko Nakahara at the Woldson Theater at The Fox. For an event called Posterize, the two organizations solicited movie posters created by members of Spokane’s design community and displayed in the Fox lobby before the concert. “There is an almost lyrical beauty to successful movie poster design. This is an enhanced concert experience we are thrilled to offer to anyone who loves the movies and movie music,” said Spokane Symphony Executive Director Brenda Nienhouse. “We believe it’s important to provide talented local designers with a forum to present their work to new audiences, and to remind people why SpIFF is so important to our arts community.” Spokane International Film Festival is in its seventeenth year and runs from February 5-14 at Spokane-area theaters.
