Princeton (N.J.) Symphony Orchestra Executive Director MELANIE CLARKE has announced her intention to step down from the post on July 1, 2015. She first joined the PSO as a violinist 25 years ago. In 1995 Clarke became the orchestra’s manager of education and founded the PSO BRAVO! education program. She was named director of development in 2005 and assumed the post of executive director in 2006. During her tenure she has overseen a fivefold increase in the orchestra’s endowment; played a key role in the recruitment of Rossen Milanov as music director; and introduced innovative community engagement programs in partnership with civic and cultural organizations. The PSO board has initiated a search for her successor.
