When the Toronto Symphony Orchestra announces its 2015-16 season on January 29, it will also incorporate an interactive question-and-answer session via Reddit.com’s popular AMA (Ask Me Anything) online format. Ten minutes prior to the announcement, at 11:45amET, a link to the AMA will be shared on TSO’s Twitter and Facebook feeds, and anyone may submit questions to Music Director Peter Oundjian and President and CEO Jeff Melanson. Reddit is an entertainment, social networking service and news website where registered community members can submit content, such as text posts, drawings, images, or direct links. Content entries are organized by areas of interest called subreddits. Among those who have answered questions via AMA are President Obama, science educator Bill Nye, Microsoft founder Bill Gates, economist Paul Krugman, actor George Clooney, and soprano Renée Fleming.
