The Chattanooga Symphony and Opera has announced details of its 2015-16 season under Music Director Kayoko Dan and Principal Pops Conductor Bob Bernhardt. Highlights of seven Masterworks concerts at the Tivoli Theatre include the world premiere of d’Ercole’s Wie de Blatter des Herbstes Herabfallen (As the Leaves Fall), performed on a program featuring the Brahms Requiem with vocal soloists and members of the CSO Chorus; a “Carnival of the Animals” program featuring Mindaugas Piecaitis’s Catcerto, Peter Schickele’s Thurber’s Dogs, and Saint-Saëns’s Carnival of the Animals; and an all-Russian program of Rimsky-Korsakov’s Russian Easter Overture, Shostakovich’s Symphony No. 1, and Tchaikovsky’s Piano Concerto No. 1, with soloist Alexander Schimpf. Also planned are four pops concerts at the Tivoli Theatre and three chamber-music concerts at Chattanooga’s Read House Silver Ballroom.
