California’s Santa Rosa Symphony has appointed three individuals to part-time positions in its Education Department: JANE SHELLY, education outreach coordinator; CHRIS AH SAN, coordinator for the orchestra’s El Sistema-inspired Simply Strings program at Sheppard School; and MEREDITH O’CONNOR, teacher aide for Simply Strings.

Jane Shelly has held principal flute and assistant principal flute positions at Connecticut’s Wallingford, Bridgeport, and Norwalk symphony orchestras. She has also served as executive director and education operations manager at the Norwalk Symphony in Connecticut.

Chris Ah San has worked most recently as a campus organizer at the University of California-Davis, where he received a bachelor’s degree in music performance and economics in 2010.

Meredith O’Connor began working with Simply Strings in 2014 as a volunteer. A violist, she has taught at Orff Schulwerk and at the Cabrillo School in Pacifica, California.
