The first weekly radio broadcast of the Phoenix Symphony’s 2014-15 concerts is slated for Monday, March 9, when Phoenix’s 89.5 KBAQ-FM and several other Arizona radio stations will air Tito Muñoz’s inaugural concert as the Phoenix Symphony’s music director. That concert, recorded in September 2014, featured Stravinsky’s Firebird Suite and Orff’s Carmina Burana, in which the orchestra was joined by the Phoenix Symphony Chorus and Phoenix Boys Choir. The Phoenix Symphony 2014-15 broadcast series continues every Monday through June 1, 2015. The broadcasts also feature information about each concert, including interviews with guest artists and conductors. The concerts are recorded through a partnership, now in its second year, between the Phoenix Symphony and Central Sound Eight, an audio-media production service of KAET/Arizona PBS. Concerts are also broadcast on KAET’s “Eight Classical” digital TV channel 8.4.
