ASHLEY MIRAKIAN has been appointed vice president of marketing and patron engagement at Florida’s Artis—Naples, home of the Naples Philharmonic and the Baker Museum. She goes to the organization following six years as director of marketing and public relations for the Toledo Symphony. Mirakian had earlier led marketing and public relations activities at the Norfolk-based Virginia Symphony Orchestra and at the Elgin (Ill.) Symphony Orchestra. She has also held administrative posts with the Brevard (N.C.) Music Center, the Bloomington Area Arts Council in Indiana, and the New Haven (Conn.) Arts Council. Mirakian’s academic background is in music performance and musicology. She has played bassoon with the University of Toledo Symphony Orchestra and Wind Ensemble, the Rockford (Ill.) Symphony Orchestra, the Opera Theatre and graduate wind quintet at Indiana University, and the Yale Symphony Orchestra.
