MATTHEW KRAEMER, music director of Pennsylvania’s Butler County Symphony and Erie Chamber Orchestra, has been named to an additional post as music director and principal conductor of the Indianapolis Chamber Orchestra. Kraemer recently completed a five-year tenure as associate conductor of the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra, and before that he served for three years as associate conductor of the Virginia Symphony Orchestra. He has guest conducted numerous U.S. orchestras including the Atlanta, Baltimore, Cincinnati, Houston Jacksonville, Nashville, North Carolina, Saint Louis, and Spokane symphonies. An Indiana native, Kraemer holds degrees from Butler University in Indianapolis and the University of Nevada, and also studied conducting in Vienna and at Aspen’s American Academy of Conducting.
