The deadline is July 1 for composers to apply for the Holland Symphony Orchestra’s 2015 Young American Composer’s Competition, being held in conjunction with Christopher Theofanidis’s upcoming residency at the orchestra this October. Composers must be born after January 1, 1985 and reside in the U.S. The winning composer will receive $1,000 and a live performance by the Holland Symphony; second- and third-place winners will receive $500 and $300 and live performances by the Hope College Orchestra and Holland Area Youth Orchestra.
