Michigan’s Ann Arbor Symphony has announced that Principal Timpanist JIM LANCIONI will take on additional duties as education and outreach coordinator, personnel manager, and librarian. He has held the principal timpani post for 34 years, and has served on the orchestra’s Orchestra and Audition committees as well as participating in its Ensembles in the Classroom program. Lancioni also plays in other orchestras, teaches private lessons, and performs with his band Coconut Radio. He holds a bachelor’s degree in percussion performance from the University of Michigan.
