The Colorado Springs Philharmonic has announced that it will continue its Free for Kids series during the 2015-16 season. The program, launched in August 2014, provides complimentary concert tickets to young people aged 7 to 17. During its first season in 2014-15, Free for Kids issued more than 1,000 tickets, three times more than had been anticipated. “It’s thrilling to see so many young families, many hearing the Philharmonic for the first time,” said Nathan Newbrough, the orchestra’s president and CEO. Free for Kids will be offered for 21 of the orchestra’s performances during the 2015-16 season. “We are proud to play a part in the success of the Free for Kids program,” said Jim Johnson, president and CEO of the GE Johnson Construction Company, a sponsor of the program. “It’s great to see so many young listeners attending the concerts.”
