The Port Angeles (Wash.) Symphony has announced the appointment of JONATHAN PASTERNACK as conductor and music director. He served as director of orchestral activities at the University of Washington from 2010 to 2013, and has guest conducted orchestras and opera companies in the Pacific Northwest as well as in Europe and in Washington, D.C. A native of New York City, Pasternack studied trombone at Manhattan School of Music and earned master’s and doctoral degrees in conducting at the University of Washington.
