The Princeton (N.J.) Symphony Orchestra has appointed MARC UYS executive director, effective July 1. He will succeed MELANIE CLARKE, who is stepping down after 25 years in the post. Uys (pronounced “ace”) has been manager of artistic operations at the PSO since August 2014, and before coming to Princeton was manager of the Sontonga Quartet in South Africa, where he also served as contractor for a national tour of Astor Piazzolla’s tango opera Maria de Buenos Aires. He holds master’s and bachelor’s degrees in music from the University of Cape Town.
