At the Georgia Symphony Orchestra, based in Marietta, CHRISTOPHER THIBDEAU has been named interim music director, and NATHANIEL PARKER interim director of the Georgia Youth Symphony Orchestra.

Christopher Thibdeau will hold his new post at the Georgia Symphony while continuing as music director of the Metropolitan Youth Symphony Orchestras of Atlanta; assistant conductor of the Georgia Tech Symphony Orchestra; conductor of the Atlanta Chamber Music Festival; and a member of the adjunct cello faculty at Georgia’s Clayton State University. He holds a bachelor’s degree in cello performance from the Eastman School of Music and a master’s in orchestral conducting from the Cleveland Institute of Music. 

Nathaniel Parker is director of orchestral activities and assistant professor of music at Marywood University (Scranton, Pa.). He holds a bachelor’s degree in bassoon performance from Arizona State University, a master’s in orchestral conducting from Bowling Green (Ohio) State University, and a doctoral degree in orchestral conducting from Michigan State University.
